Veteran (power-gaming) Necromunda player here. Just want to share some tips and sample lists with new players. Veterans will be familiar with everything here.
Views are premised on playing on tables with enough terrain that allows CC warbands a chance to get close (wide open tables means simple admech gunlines will dominate). Sample lists are built on efficiency and not fun or fluff considerations.

Only buy snazzy wargear when you have a good amount of bodies. Most of the time, snazzy wargear isn't worth its cost, particularly as advancement is slow compared to Necromunda (only 1 advancement per game unless you get lucky with serious injury rolls). Following huge demand for the Shadow War: Armageddon game, the Warhammer studio book team got to work, and a separate rulebook was created and turned around in record time.
And here it is!
Shadow War doesn’t need a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 rules to play – it’s effectively a totally separate game, but sharing the setting and some miniatures.
More than just a reprint of the book that originally appeared in the boxed game, this 200-page rulebook contains a wealth of new content.
The main update is the inclusion of all the factions, previously only available as PDF downloads. By popular demand, two new factions have been added too – the fanatical Battle Sisters of the Adepta Sororitas, and the grim warbands of the Inquisition.
This is a great book for those of you out there with an existing Warhammer 40,000 collection you’d like to play with in a different way, or for anyone who wants a way to play games with a small skirmish force while they build towards a bigger army.
Pre-order the new rulebook here.
For those of you who got your hands on the original Shadow War box, we’ve made the two new warbands available for you too. Download them HERE. (You will need either the new rulebook or the Shadow War Armageddon box to use these new warband rules.)
